I met my friend Curtis in Detroit. He made me breakfast, and gave me a ride through Santiam pass to Bend where we went to the REI to see about fixing or replacing my tent polls. They were unable to help me since I had bought my half dome one and a half years ago which exceeds their one year warranty. I guess it’s normal for their polls to snap after a year and a half of light use. Luckily I was able to borrow Curtis’s tent. After resupplying food and water, reorganizing my bags, and drying some of my wet and frozen gear I set off again.
Thanks Curtis!
I spent some time getting the wheels to spin, Then I spent some more time making sure they could stop. I walked my bike while riding the brakes until I had enough stoping power to feel confident riding.
I got up bright and early to find everything very frozen.

Wait. So you woke up to a frozen bike after spending the (frozen) night in a collapsed tent? Way to go, Hardy Boy!

Waking up to find everything frozen sounds like quite a challenge!
